Probably all store-bought doughnuts contain the unholy trinity of unhealthy ingredients, trans fat, sugar, and refined flour.
And many contain a staggering 10 to 20 grams of fat each and between 250 to 300 of empty calories.
A close runner up to doughnuts, or a tie with them is bacon.
You might love bacon, but it doesn’t love you!
Most people love bacon, and done right it can be delicious.
But it’s not only not very good for you, it’s actually one of the worst things you can eat.
One average serving of bacon, three slices, contains 435 milligrams of sodium, which is about one-fifth of the average adult’s daily allowance.
And bacon is one of them, along with ham, hot dogs, sausages, salami, as well as nearly all ready to eat meats have been been found to increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases as well as certain cancers.
In fact, researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health found that people who regularly eat 50 grams (about 2 ounces) of processed meat, which is about one hot dog or 1-2 slices of luncheon meats, have a 42% greater risk of heart disease, and nearly 20% greater risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
